I’m reading a book right now – actually, I’ve been trying to make it a daily read – and near the end, author Steven Pressfield defined resistance as “that self-created and self-perpetuated, invisible, impersonal, indefatigable force whose sole aim is to prevent us from doing our work, from becoming our best selves, and from rising to the next level of competence, integrity and generosity.”
It goes on to say that “the force never goes away. In fact, it becomes more protean and more cunning as we advance through the levels of professionalism … As you travel through life, let this be our goal: keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.“
It’s a rainy Halloween in Tennessee, so I’m trying to let this advice sink right on through me. What are you doing for Halloween?
