I hope you all are enjoying the holidays. Late December/early January is one of my favorite times of the year–and not just because of the snow, the food, the sweets, the lights and special church services and atmosphere of giving — wait, it really is because of all of those things. In Tennessee, it doesn’t really start to look like Christmas until mid-January, so I live vicariously through a few mandatory seasonal films including this one: The Miracle on 34th Street. Originally released in June 1947–this film has a few big stars of the day–Maureen O’Hara, Natalie Wood and Edmund Gwenn, arguably the best big-screen Santa Clause ever.
