Sugar & the Hi-Lows are a local Nashville band, whom I love. They’re a great representation of Nashville music that’s not country, and also not Jack White. They play easy music – catchy, but the kind of music that follows you around on cool fall day. Movie-music. They’re comprised of two solo artists – Trent Dabbs, creator of Ten Out of Tenn-a really great collective of local musicians who tour/play/write together, and also of several great albums like 2011’s Southerner; and Amy Stroup, who put out The Other Side of Love Sessions in 2011.
